Gaomi Electric Appliance Factory was established, laying down the groundwork for electric motor technologies. In 1988, this was renamed as Weifang Electric Machinery Factory.
Mr. Sun, then the factory director, left Gaomi Electric Appliance Factory to establish Gaomi Towel Factory, which served as the structural predecessor to the multi-billion RMB Sunvim Group.
Weifang Electric Machinery Factory was formally acquired by Sunvim, giving birth to Shandong Sunvim Electrical Machinery Co. Ltd. and accelerating industrial motor production lines.

In the transition toward eco-friendly industrial infrastructure, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) have emerged as the standard for superior efficiency, replacing traditional asynchronous induction motors. Unlike induction motors that rely on rotor currents to generate magnetic fields (which creates rotor copper losses), PMSMs feature high-coercivity rare-earth permanent magnets (NdFeB) embedded directly in the rotor core. This design eliminates excitation losses, resulting in near-zero rotor heating and a significant leap in efficiency.
